Mae Hong Son

Surrounded by mountain ranges and virtually covered with mist year round, Mae Hong Son is a “dream destination” for visitors attracted by cultural and natural wonders. Visit Namtok Pha Sua - a large waterfall. Gaze at Thai Yai Architecture in most temples. Tham Pla Forest Park's surrounding areas are brooks and cool hilly forests suitable for relaxation. Relax at Pha Bong Hot Spring's facilities. Stop at an old temple, Wat Chong Kham and at Wat Chong Klang where a replica of the Phra Buddha Sihing is installed on an altar. Wat Hua Wiang or Wat Klang Muang houses Phra Chao Pharalakhaeng, a Buddha statue dressed in beautiful attire. Wat Kam Ko, an old temple built in 1890, has the special architectural feature of the cover over the passageway from the entrance arch to the Burmese-style Vihara and the text in Thai Yai script chronicling Thai Yai history. Wat Phra Non houses a 12-meter long Reclining Buddha in Tha Yai style cast in 1875. Doi Kong Mu, located on a hill west of town, is a major provincial landmark with two Burmese-style Chedis (pagodas).
